What is Roundtable?
Monthly Roundtables are conducted by the North Star District to provide
the latest program information, guidance and a forum for the sharing of
experiences and resources. The aim of the Roundtable is to provide the will
and the skill to do. If leaders have these two things, they can succeed,
and they and their unit will continue to succeed.
The will to do - in the form of morales, enthusiasm and information -
is distributed regularly (for the will to do is perishable).
The skill to do - in the form of skills, program ideas, techniques, and
information - is taught a piece at a time (for there is so much to learn).
A Roundtable is fun, practical, inspiring, full of skills, loaded with
techniques, and
brimming with program ideas.
Who attends Roundtable?
Roundtables are designed for leaders. Cub Scout Roundtable
should be attended by den leaders and their assistants, Webelos leaders
and their assistants, Cubmasters, assistant Cubmasters, and pack committee
members.
Boy Scout Leader Roundtable is meant to be attended
by Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and
troop committee members. Unit Commissioners attend the Roundtables in which
their leaders are involved so they can be available if additional questions
arise.
What is the Goal of Roundtable?
To help motivate unit leaders and refresh their morale, enthusiasm, inspiration
and vision.
To provide unit leaders with skills, techniques, ideas, information and
know-how to make their unit operation successful.
To provide resources to help unit leaders in their roles.
